For over seven years, Rita served as the Job Search Strategy Examiner for Portland at Examiner.com, providing valuable insights to job seekers. Following the closure of Examiner.com, she founded GuideWAH, a highly regarded resource that ranks among the top 60 websites for nontraditional work options. Rita's expertise has been featured in esteemed outlets such as Examiner, Live, Careerealism, TopResume, and Eduopinions, where she has offered valuable advice. Her unwavering commitment to helping others in business and education is evident in her work. Rita extends her support to small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and individuals, addressing a wide range of topics including workforce issues, career development, and college readiness. Engaging in challenging conversations with businesses and educators, Rita demonstrates her dedication to workforce development across various platforms. She serves as a Subject Matter Expert for DE Consulting, lending her extensive knowledge and insights. Additionally, she holds positions as Adjunct Faculty at the University of the People, and has contributed to courses at Strayer University. Prior to her work with DE Consulting, Rita served as a Career Development Professional, successfully managing career development and coaching plans for thousands of students. With her extensive experience in higher education, event production, strategic communication, workforce development, and instructional design, Rita possesses a diverse skill set. Her expertise in instructional design enables her to create engaging and effective learning experiences. Rita's work as an instructional designer involves designing and developing educational materials, curricula, and training programs that align with clients' needs and objectives. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Rita currently serves as an Applicant Reader for the Mandela Washington Fellowship, where she contributes to the selection process. As the head of workforce development and social impact, Rita leads the organization's efforts to uplift communities and equip individuals with the necessary skills for success.
